Composition:
1 ml of the product contains: Peppermint Oil 2.5 mg, Menthol 0.1 mg, Eucalyptol 0.4 mg, Wintergreen Oil 0.1 mg
Pharmacologic property:
Pharmacodynamics. An aqueous-glycerin solution of essential oils is used as a topical tonic and antiseptic agent to treat the mucous membrane of the pharyngeal cavity. Wintergreen Oil stimulates and tonicizes flabby muscles of the soft palate and uvula by preventing their retraction. Due to high content of methyl ester of salicylic acid Sleepex has a topical anti-inflammatory effect. Peppermint Oil and Eucalyptol, by a reflex route through stimulation of the receptors of mucous membranes, produce a moderate topical anesthetic and antiseptic effect. Menthol has a spasmolytic and decongestant effect. The above-mentioned essential oils act in a enveloping manner similar to that of natural lubrication, and prevent vibrations of the throat walls. Glycerin softens the mucous membrane of the oral cavity.
Indication and usage:
Sleepex is used in otorhinolaryngology to prevent or reduce intensity of snoring symptoms; for prophylaxis of inflammatory processes in the throat (tonsillitis, pharyngitis) in adults.
