Pharmacologic property:
Shark liver oil causes anti-inflammatory, hemostatic and healing effect. Phenylephrine Hydrochloride is a sympathomimetic amine that causes vasoconstriction via the activation of post-junctional -adrenergic receptors located on the pre- capillary and post- capillary blood vessels. Activation of these receptors occur directly by binding of phenylephrine or indirectly by binding of norepinephrine released from sympathomimetic nerve endings in response to phenylephrine. This reduces exudation, edema, pruritus, serous discharge in patients with hemorrhoids and other conditions of anorectum.
Indication and usage:
Temporarily shrinks hemorrhoidal tissues and gives temporary relief of the itching, burning and discomfort associated with hemorrhoids.
